Biography

Gillian Gallandat Huet (1957), sculptor

Gillian Gallandat Huet grew up in a creative family with very diverse roots: French, Scottish, Australian and Russian. Her international orientation and interest in other cultures have always helped her personal development.

Gillian’s fascination with nature comes from her Australian mother, who taught her the love for humanity and the language of animals. Her naturalistic and realistic style carries a soul; through her art, Gillian strives to re-establish the connection between human beings and nature.

“My works of art symbolise nature and help to restore contact with our roots. Nature has a healing energy and as we live in a very demanding digital era, we can benefit from having more contact with nature in our lives. In this way, we can feel our own roots and reach out to the cosmos.”

Gillian completed her classical education as a sculptor at a Belgian Academy of Fine Arts. In 2012 she was selected for a masterclass of the Society of Portrait Sculptors in London; in the summer of 2016 she continued her training at the Florence Academy of Art in Italy.

She has exhibited in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Portugal and Monaco. Her sculptures are held by collectors in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Switzerland, Morocco, Australia and the United States.

Since 2018 she lives and works in Seillans, in the South of France.
